- January 2022
The Danish Tax Agency receives information from various sources, including employers, pension funds, and banks. In 2019, the agency received information from over 200,000 of these different external entities, which was used to compile the annual tax returns of Danes. In total, over 170 million pieces of financial information were reported by Danes, which the Danish Tax Agency used to calculate whether too much or too little tax was paid during the year. - February 2022
The Danish Tax Agency collects all the information it has received and makes tax calculations for individuals. - March 11, 2022
The Danish tax authority is expected to release the information so you can view your annual statement. This could allow hundreds of thousands of Danes to find out if they have paid more or less tax than required. There is usually an hour queue for the first few days, which you can avoid by trying outside of business hours, usually early in the morning or very late in the evening. - March 14, 2022

The Danish tax authority begins paying the excess tax to Danes and the money is deposited into each person's NemKonto account. Last year, Danes were set to receive a total of 19.5 billion Danish kroner in taxes refunded to their bank accounts, and the money was distributed at a value of nearly 5,400 kroner to each person who paid too much tax during the year. - May 1, 2022
You can correct your annual tax return until May 1, which is the deadline for this year, where you can enter the data yourself, in which case you must justify the changes required. - July 1, 2022
If you owe more taxes, this is the deadline to pay the outstanding amount without adding interest. Last year, Danes owed a total of 7.1 billion kroner in back taxes.
If you pay the remaining tax before July 1st, you will not have to pay an additional 4% fee, but you will still have to pay an interest rate of 2% calculated from January 1st until the date the funds are deposited. Therefore, if you want to minimize your interest payments to the Danish Tax Agency, you should pay any remaining tax as soon as possible. - July 1, 2022
