Electricity prices rose sharply on Monday morning

While the price of electricity on Monday mornings usually ranges between 10 ura and 2 kroner per kilowatt-hour, the figure reached about 4.7 kroner between 8 and 9 a.m. this Monday.

This was caused by weak winds (which drive the turbines to produce energy) in addition to the high price of gas, which forms the basis of the price increase, which is the net price of electricity without transportation and taxes.

The war in Ukraine has also exacerbated the situation, particularly after Russian President Vladimir Putin reduced gas supplies to Europe.
