The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has just released a statement regarding Denmark's support for Morocco following the recent earthquake. The statement reads as follows:

Denmark supports Morocco after the devastating earthquake
The government is contributing 7.5 million kroner to relief efforts in Morocco after a devastating earthquake struck the Atlas Mountains region and the cities of Marrakech and Agadir on Friday.

More than 2,800 victims and more than 2,500 injured were recorded on Tuesday, and the World Health Organization estimates that there are about 300,000 people affected by the situation.

“Morocco is currently going through a very difficult time. The humanitarian situation is serious, especially in the mountainous and remote areas. Therefore, I am pleased that Denmark can now support the relief work initiated by the Moroccans themselves. Through our contribution, we are supporting the important work being done by the Moroccan Red Crescent, including sending first aid, tents and support to the affected local communities,” commented Dan Jørgensen, Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy.

This support comes after the Moroccan government recently gave official approval to receive aid from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The Danish aid is channeled through the IFRC and supports its relief efforts, including first aid, support for health clinics, and the transport of the injured. Efforts will also focus on providing further assistance to earthquake victims, including cash assistance for rebuilding homes, psychological support, and other forms of aid.

Meanwhile, shelter is being provided to approximately 600,000 people through ongoing cooperation between Denmark and the UN Migration Agency in Morocco to ensure shelter and assistance for children separated from their parents after the earthquake.
