The Jewish Community of Denmark (Det jødiske Samfund) issued a press release in response to the “Committee for the Struggle of Forgotten Women,” which proposed banning religious headscarves in public and private primary schools (from grade zero to grade nine) in Denmark. The press release stated: “Each of us can decide whether we want to be religious or not. It is not the state’s job to impose religiosity or secularism on the heads of citizens. This also applies to the way you choose to dress.”.
