With a cold winter expected, electricity and gas prices have started to rise again.

After a good period of stable electricity prices in Denmark at a relatively low level, prices are on their way up again and have already started recently, with electricity prices yesterday, Wednesday, for example, approaching 5 kroner during peak periods, in addition to transmission charges and taxes, according to Andel Energis.
According to company official Jack Michael Christensen, it is not possible to determine exactly how long this will take, but the market expects it may extend into next January, due to the combination of low temperatures and limited wind for the wind turbines.
Christensen added that prices are rising due to the cold weather in Europe and the low wind speeds, so the Danish market has to buy energy from Germany at a much higher price, because gas prices largely control the price there.
Hydroelectric power failures from neighboring countries
In addition, many Swedish and Norwegian hydroelectric power plants are not producing at the required level due to low water levels in Norway and Sweden. With expectations of a colder-than-usual winter in Europe, there will be greater demand for gas, and therefore the price of gas is expected to rise throughout the winter.
