According to local media, starting from December 1st, citizens and less fortunate residents of Odense will be able to obtain a free transportation card, called Frikort Odense.
According to Tim Vermond, the climate and environment officer for the municipality of Odense, the idea originated with traffic inspectors from the company Finbus, and their proposal represents a "good and important" solution, as everyone should be able to visit the doctor, see family, and make other important trips. Otherwise, they will remain isolated at home due to the cost.
Social services and NGO staff in the municipality will assess and issue the free card, according to Tim Vermond.
