TV2 published a report on the level of female students of immigrant origin, which for the first time reached the level of (male) students of Danish ethnicity and slightly surpassed it.

This result is shown by measuring the average level of ninth-grade students through an analytical study conducted by the Kraka Research Centre based on data from the Danish Ministry of Children and Education.

In 2013, male students of Danish origin scored 0.44 points higher than female students of non-Western origin, while now the average level is similar between the two groups. In 2022, female students from a non-Western background scored an average of 6.7, while male students of Danish origin scored slightly lower on average.

As for male students of non-Western origin, they achieved a slight increase in average scores, but they are still much lower than other groups, as the average score did not reach 6, on a scale of 12 where the passing threshold is 2. Female students of Danish ethnicity still top the list of highest scores, but the source did not mention the average score for this category.

It is worth noting that the education sector in Denmark in general is experiencing a shortage of qualified personnel, as enrollment in teacher training programs in 2022 saw a decrease of 11% compared to 2019, which led to an increase in the use of part-time teachers in primary schools, i.e., for grades 0 to 9.
