According to BT Sport, buying an electric car in Denmark has become significantly cheaper than before. This is also affecting used car prices, as Bilbassen market analyst Bilksbert explained to BT Sport.

With electric car prices falling, there is an opportunity to get a good deal, according to automotive expert Jan Lange, as reported by the source.

With electric car prices falling, there's a good deal to be had, says automotive expert Jan Lang. (Pax Lindhardt for BT).

Prices for electric cars are falling sharply, even for the most sought-after models in Denmark.

Therefore, Danes can find significant savings compared to the beginning of the year, according to automotive expert Jan Lange, as reported by BT.

Since the beginning of 2025, the prices of electric cars have decreased, which benefits Danish consumers.

As a market analyst at Denmark’s largest used car market, Bilbasen, Jan Lang compiled a list of the 11 most searched-for cars on their search engine.

Moreover, these are the things he considers most interesting at the moment.

The website took a closer look at the three models that saw the biggest price drops, and the Volkswagen ID.3 model saw the largest price decrease, dropping by about 12%.

The average cost is therefore 21,000 kroner lower than in January.

Jan Lange explained to the source, “Its performance in tests is excellent, and the consumer gets a very practical car for its price. It is the size of a Golf and the space of a Passat. It also has excellent durability.”.

However, he indicates that the first generation of the “ID 3 first” model should be avoided.

In second place is the small Fiat 500e, whose price has dropped by about ten percent, making it about 13,000 kroner cheaper.

Regarding this car, Jan Lang told BT: “It is relatively new and reasonably priced. I advise you to get extra insurance, as there are some problems with the parts that receive the electrical current during charging. Replacing them is very expensive.”.

He explains that its strength lies in its price, which is around 121,000 kroner, making it a stable city car.

The slightly larger Hyundai Inoiq 5 occupies third place.

The price has decreased by slightly more than nine percent, but the cost is around a quarter of a million kroner.

It's slightly larger than the Volkswagen ID.3. It drives exceptionally well and comes with Hyundai's five-year warranty from the date of manufacture. For this reason, you can avoid purchasing additional insurance if you buy a relatively new car, as Jan Lang explains to the source.

He adds that the manufacturer has significantly reduced the price, which has also led to a decrease in the price of the used one.

Finally, the automotive expert offers some reminders and basic rules for those considering buying a used electric car.

“You have to remember that a used electric car is a used car. That’s why we have a basic position that you should buy additional insurance, because repairing it is very expensive,” he says.

“There is a huge oversupply of electric cars. And although we are achieving record sales figures for electric cars, their prices continue to fall,” according to Jan Lang, as quoted by BT.

At the same time, he emphasizes that it is a good idea to ask for advice from acquaintances who already own an electric car.
