An explosion in Ballerup this morning damaged two buildings and prompted a wide-ranging investigation.

According to TV2, West Copenhagen police received a report of an explosion at 3:40 a.m. on Sunday morning. A loud explosion was heard in the Hestens Kvarter area of Ballerup, on the outskirts of the capital. The explosion damaged two adjacent buildings, one a foundation building and the other a house (rækkehus), where windows were broken. Two people were taken to the hospital and are in good general condition.
Police have cordoned off the area to conduct extensive investigations, which they expect will take some time. There is no information yet on the cause of the explosion.
