FIFA, the World Cup organizer, threatened to give players wearing the aforementioned badge a yellow card, which caused the Danish Football Association to feel very disappointed with FIFA, according to a statement by Jakob Jensen, director of DBU, to TV2.

In addition to Denmark, several other national teams participating in the World Cup, namely Wales, the Netherlands, Belgium, England, France, Germany and Switzerland, have campaigned for their team leaders to wear the LGBTQ+ badge, but now, after FIFA's threat, the countries have decided together that they do not want to risk the player being punished.

Denmark are scheduled to play their first World Cup match on Tuesday, November 22 at 14:00 against Tunisia.
