Copenhagen police stated that the incident occurred after receiving a report of a man armed with a knife in the vicinity of the Forum.

The place is known for its association with a well-known events and exhibition center in Frederiksberg, and it is located near a metro station of the same name, making it a vital location in the Copenhagen metropolitan area.

Deputy Inspector of Police Bettina Blom Larsen confirmed to TV2 that no other people were injured in the incident, adding that she had no further comments at the moment.

The investigation is being transferred to an independent body.

Copenhagen police explained that they could not provide further details, as any case involving the use of a service weapon is automatically referred to the Independent Police Complaints Board (Den Uafhængige Politiklagemyndighed), known as DUP for short.

This body is responsible for investigating cases related to police conduct, including incidents involving the use of service weapons.

The circumstances of the incident remain unclear.

What happened before and during the shooting is still not known exactly, while TV2 reported that it is working to clarify the sequence of events and obtain comment from the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
