A McDonald's restaurant at Copenhagen Central Station was evacuated on Saturday evening after 14 employees suddenly fell ill, Copenhagen police duty officer Espen Gudiksen told TV2 Lorry: "We received a report at 23:34 that people on the premises were sick, unwell, and vomiting. We then evacuated the restaurant.".
They were given urgent treatment and appeared to be improving, then they left the fast food restaurant.
The Danish Work Environment Authority must investigate the matter, as the police hypothesis now states that the frying oil may have been too hot and caused smoke and fumes that could cause illness. The police have referred the case to the Danish Work Environment Authority and will not take any further action at present.
