The DR website published a report on the decision of the official sponsors of the Danish national team for the World Cup in Qatar, raising the question of whether the official sponsors are boycotting the Qatar World Cup or not, after the talk about human rights in Qatar, including migrant workers, has dominated the public scene of the World Cup during the last ten years, that is, since the announcement of Qatar’s selection to host this year’s World Cup.
Should we boycott the Qatar World Cup or not?
This debate has been a dilemma for Danish football fans in recent months, and not only the fans but also the official sponsors of the Danish national team.
The official sponsors of the Danish national team are five of Denmark’s largest companies: Stark, Carlsberg, Forenet Kredit, Hummel, and Oddset.

وقبل حوالي عام أعلن اتحاد كرة القدم الدنماركي أن “الشركاء التجاريين للمنتخب الوطني للرجال لا يشاركون ولا يقومون بأنشطة تجارية في قطر – إلا إذا كانت الإجراءات ناشطة وجزءًا من الحوار النقدي”، والآن يعلن الرعاة بوضوح وفقاً للمصدر أنهم لن يرسلوا موظفين أو عملاء إلى قطر كما سيمتنعون كلياً عن الأنشطة التجارية في قطر.
دعم المنتخب الوطني – وليس كأس العالم
وأعلنت شركة Carlsberg الدنماركية والتي كانت راعياً رسمياً للمنتخب الوطني منذ 43 عاماً بأنها تدعم المنتخب الوطني وليس كأس العالم، لأنه يُلعب في مكان “لا يفي بالمعايير الأخلاقية”، لذلك تخطط الشركة لأن يكون اسمها مرتبط بالمنتخب الوطني وليس بكأس العالم في قطر.

The caretaker Minister of Culture, Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen, announced that as long as negotiations are underway to form a government, Denmark cannot be politically represented at the Qatar World Cup, since the caretaker government is only responsible for carrying out important procedures until a new government is adopted.
Qatar's hosting of world sporting championships
It is worth noting that Qatar has previously hosted major sporting events, including the FIFA Club World Cup in 2019, the IAAF World Championships in 2019, the IHF Men’s Handball World Championship in 2015, and the UCI Road World Championships in 2016.
