A traveler was arrested at the airport in possession of 5.5 million kronor.

Danish authorities arrested a man carrying a suitcase full of money at Kastrup Airport in the Danish capital, Copenhagen.

The latest case involves a man in his forties who was arrested this weekend when authorities found him carrying approximately 5.5 million Danish and Swedish kronor in a suitcase as he was taking it out of Denmark.

The court session was held on Saturday, where a judge in the Copenhagen City Court decided to remand the traveler in custody until the end of November, because the police will try to conduct a further investigation into the case.

This is the second such case after the arrest in mid-October of a man in his forties who was carrying 3.5 million kronor and a plane ticket to Istanbul, Türkiye, according to TV2.

According to Danish law, a traveler to or from Denmark carrying an amount equivalent to 10,000 euros (approximately 75,000 Danish kroner) or more must declare it to Danish customs, regardless of the type of currency or whether the value is in cash, gold, or any other form.
