According to the Danish news site TV2 ØJ, a 16-year-old boy was sentenced by a court in the city of Randers after being convicted of attempting to rape a 10-year-old girl during a school break in the small town of Glesborg.

Prosecutor Jesper Rupau, from the East Jutland Prosecutor's Office, said the sentence requires the teenager to undergo a two-year social rehabilitation program for juvenile offenders, which includes a period of residence in a closed educational institution and then in an approved shelter, under the supervision of the municipality.
The court also ordered that the victim be paid financial compensation of 40,000 Danish kroner.
According to details of the case published by the channel, the boy and the girl were studying at the same school, and he forced her during recess to go to a wooded area near the school, where he tried to assault her after hitting her several times on the head.
The investigation indicates that he was carrying a knife, adhesive tape, and gloves, but he did not use the tools during the incident.
After the incident, the teenager and the girl returned to school, where the police were notified and investigations began immediately.
The case has sparked widespread interest in the local community due to the shock it has caused to the residents of the small town and the school environment, while the identity of neither party has been revealed in compliance with Danish law for the protection of minors.
