بدأت رئيسة الوزراء الدنماركية ميته فريدريكسن المؤتمر الصحفي بإدانة هجوم روسيا على أوكرانيا وقالت بأن الوضع يتغير بسرعة وبأن الهجمات الصاروخية ضربت العديد من الأماكن في أوكرانيا واضافت بأن اليوم يوم مظلم للسلام العالمي، وبأن “هناك الآن حرب في أوروبا، جملة لم نتمكن من قولها لسنوات عديدة، والتي كان الكثير منا يأمل في إنقاذ أطفالنا”، كما عبرت عن مواساتها للمواطنين الأوكرانيين، ووصفت الوضع بأنه عمل وحشي وغير مبرر وقالت:
We are now seeing Putin's true self, which is ominous for all of us who want security, peace, and democracy, and it is an attack on the rules-based international order we have known for decades.
Mette Frederiksen stressed that Denmark and the West tried to find a diplomatic solution, but Russia chose brutality, as she put it, and pointed to future sanctions.
