The German airline group Lufthansa announced the cancellation of 20,000 flights until next October, according to a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cancelled flights are \u201cunprofitable short-haul flights\u201d across the Lufthansa Group network, and by cancelling 20,000 departures during this period, the company will achieve savings of nearly 40,000 tons of jet fuel, the price of which has doubled since the outbreak of war in the Middle East, according to Lufthansa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company announced it would cancel 120 flights daily until the end of May, and began implementing these cancellations on Monday. The company confirmed that affected passengers had been notified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
