According to TV2, during its coverage of the press conference held by Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House in Washington, Donald Trump emphasized the need to reach an agreement on Greenland. He argued that it had been said that such an agreement with Denmark was impossible because Denmark was too far away and had nothing to do in Greenland: \u201cWe\u2019re going to have to make a deal about this. And Denmark can\u2019t do it, they\u2019re too far away and they really don\u2019t have anything to do there.\u201d He continued, \u201cA ship has been docked there for 200 years or so, and they (Denmark) say they have rights to it. I don\u2019t know if that\u2019s true. I don\u2019t think so, actually,\u201d according to Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump added that the United States had been in contact with both Denmark and Greenland regarding this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump: More US troops may arrive in Greenland<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n According to TV2, Trump stated that more troops might arrive in Greenland. It is worth noting that Greenland can gain its independence if a majority of Greenland\u2019s population votes in favor of independence from the Commonwealth of the Kingdom of Denmark, which includes Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.
