TimeOut travel magazine has published its findings on the 19 best cities worldwide with the best public transport, based on the opinions of local residents who use public transport daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The travel magazine ranked Copenhagen as one of the top five cities in the world for public transport, with the Danish capital outperforming Stockholm, Amsterdam, Singapore, London, Paris, New York, Zurich and several other global capitals and cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the aim of determining the list of the best cities for public transport worldwide, the magazine surveyed more than 20,000 local city dwellers in 50 cities around the world, asking them whether it was easy for them to get around their city using public transport. Based on the responses, the magazine ranked 19 of the world's best public transport networks on the list, all of which received more than 80% of positive feedback from local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Berlin took first place, with transport in the German capital praised for being \u201ccomfortable, safe and always on time,\u201d the next places went directly to Prague and Tokyo, with Copenhagen in fourth place globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The magazine, in its ranking of Copenhagen, stated that \u201cit\u2019s not hard to argue that Copenhagen is the greatest city on the planet. Few places are as effortlessly chic as the Danish capital, and its list of restaurants, museums, and bars is second to none, not to mention its craft beer. Copenhagen\u2019s public transport carries the lion\u2019s share of the deal, with a reliable system of trains, buses, and water taxis that draws people all day long. You can pay for everything with one ticket: the Copenhagen Card covers public transport across the entire city. No wonder 93% locals said it\u2019s easy to get around.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
