The infection is on the rise in Denmark and is affecting the entire country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The death rate among those infected is not higher than usual for this type of infection; however, since the number of cases has risen so dramatically, it means that more people may lose their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the deceased were two children under the age of fifteen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the number of infections peaked in January, the number of infections in February was still much higher than normal, according to the assessment of the Danish health authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Streptococcal infections have been found throughout the country, but the highest infection rate is in the North Jutland region, and the lowest in the Capital Region and the Southern Danish Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Invasive streptococcal infection is also called flesh-eating bacteria, as it can lead to devastating inflammation in certain muscles and tissues, and in addition, it can lead to blood poisoning and organ failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is considered so dangerous that the mortality rate among people who are not treated for it reaches 80%, which is a very high rate. arm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initially, the signs may not be noticeable or visible, but the area of skin over the infection may appear pale or slightly discolored.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As the condition progresses, a reddish-purple or bluish discoloration may appear, along with ulcers and blisters on the skin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Low blood pressure and poor circulation usually cause confusion and severe discomfort in the patient.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Internal organ damage and life-threatening heart failure can occur if the condition is not treated quickly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A condition called toxic shock syndrome (STSS) can also occur, and it is particularly dangerous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a doctor in the Department of Infectious Epidemiology and Prevention, invasive streptococcal infection is not usually serious, and it is a bacterium that the healthcare system controls well, but it only becomes very serious if it spreads into the bloodstream, in which case it must be treated quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, the doctor calls for calm and explains that only in rare cases can an invasive streptococcal infection be life-threatening, adding that the bacteria are sensitive to penicillin (the antibiotic), but if it gradually worsens despite treatment, attention should be paid immediately and a doctor should be
