According to a local website, for the fourth year in a row, the pizza restaurant is providing food to the homeless throughout the Christmas period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
G\u00f6khan Hasan and his brother, owners of the "Kebab og Pizza" restaurant in Herlev, started the idea in 2018 of distributing free kebabs, pizzas, and soft drinks to the homeless during the Christmas period. The idea was a great success, but it has flourished in the last two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gokhan says, \u201cWe do this to help those in need and lend a helping hand to those who truly need it. Over the past two years, we put up a huge sign on the facade, and then more and more people came. People in that environment know each other and pass it around. About 10 people come every day.\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From December 1st until Christmas Eve, December 24th, all homeless people can visit the pizzeria located at 113 Herlev Hovedgade. Gokhan and his brother are ready to provide a meal and a soft drink to those in need, who come from diverse backgrounds, including Eastern Europeans, Greenlanders, Danes, and others. Gokhan commented, "It's wonderful to be able to help people who truly need it." He continued, "Last year, I had a very touching experience. A group of four people came in. It was also a rather sad story. One of them said he hadn't eaten in a restaurant for several years, so he had dressed in his best clothes\u2014and this was just a kebab shop. It was very moving, and he was genuinely happy.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gokhan and his brother bought the pizza restaurant in Herlev six years ago, but like many, they are affected by the high prices of energy and raw materials at the moment.
