At the annual national meeting of Danish political parties, Morten Messerschmitt, leader of the Danish People's Party (DPP), was the final speaker on Saturday. The DPP has been facing significant internal problems, leading to the defection of several prominent politicians. This was particularly evident after former parliamentarian Inga St\u00f8jberg announced the formation of her new party, the Danish Democrats. According to opinion polls, the party has achieved exceptional success in terms of both the number and speed of its membership, despite not having announced an electoral platform. St\u00f8jberg is known for her staunchly anti-Islamic stance, particularly regarding immigration and refugees. These are the key points of agreement between the politicians who defected from the DPP and the new Danish Democrats. It is worth noting that the DPP risks losing its few remaining seats in parliament, as opinion polls indicate that the party is on the verge of being expelled unless it succeeds in garnering more votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Messerschmitt\u2019s speech was preceded by a promotional video for the Danish People\u2019s Party on Twitter that carried a message centered on extremism towards Islam, the hijab, the ghetto, and crime. The video shows pictures of residential complexes, veiled women, and mosques, while Morten Messerschmitt criticizes Islam, saying in the video: \u201cIs this still Denmark? Is this the country our fathers and grandfathers imagined?\u201d The video was filmed in a bleak manner in both form and content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A violent discourse in its treatment of Islam and Arabs<\/strong>
Returning to Messerschmitt's speech, it appeared more violent than his previous speeches, and it is known that the Danish People's Party relies on a strict immigration policy to win voters' support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Removing Islam from hospitals<\/strong>
During his speech, Messerschmitt said that he wanted to remove Islam from hospitals: \u201cWe want Islam to leave the hospitals,\u201d which was followed by enthusiastic applause from the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also told Morten Messerschmitt that he couldn't be the only one who was fed up with having to be dragged into a "complete Bedouin camp in the waiting room".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Messerschmitt also added that he could not stand (seeing) the wearing of the hijab, prayer rooms, Ramadan, and halal meat, after which he received even warmer applause from the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilitating police access to ghetto residential complexes<\/strong>
According to Morten Messerschmitt, stricter measures must be taken in the neighborhoods known as ghettos (ghettos are residential areas classified by the Danish government as parallel societies where the education rate is low, the unemployment rate and crime rate are high, and immigrants and their descendants make up the majority of the population). According to Messerschmitt, the police will only be able to enforce the law with a \u201clarge-scale campaign\u201c and where they cannot enter without being \u201cchased by violent Arab boys,\u201d as he put it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why the Danish People's Party is proposing a new ghetto package, which would make all Danish ghetto areas permanent visitation zones for the authorities. As Messerschmitt stated in his speech: "So that the police can intervene decisively, without being able to play games with all sorts of legal loopholes, at the same time, it must be possible for the police to issue curfews for individuals for several months. Take Denmark's problems seriously and put more pressure on the ghetto neighborhoods. Denmark needs a government that takes Denmark's problems seriously.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Messerschmitt stated that the new government should not make it more attractive for \u201cunemployed migrants to stay on the couch or at home in the ghetto,\u201d as using a stricter system \u201cwill make it easier to get the necessary return ticket to where they come from,\u201d referring to making migrants and refugees leave Denmark to return to their countries of origin. The proposer also demanded the activation of tangible consequences for offenders and their families: \u201cHere in Denmark, it is the parents\u201d responsibility to monitor their children. If they cannot detect it, that is their problem too.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ritsaou, \u201cDanes First\u201d is the slogan of the party\u2019s promotional materials in Herning, where 600 members attended the party\u2019s national meeting, compared to 900 the last time the DF held a national meeting, indicating a decline in the party\u2019s popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On national issues, Messerschmitt said he wanted to strengthen the craft professions, and if it were up to him, tuition fees for master's programs should be restructured and funds transferred directly to vocational schools: "So we will once again become a country that not only dispenses with foreign labor, but is proud to have its own mechanics, building designers, health workers, cooks and electricians," he said.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
