Local media reported on Wednesday that 64 former female members of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation's (DR) girls' choir were harassed by six men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was acknowledged by the director of culture, children and youth at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), Henrik Bo Nielsen, at a press conference on Wednesday evening, where the results of a lawyer's investigation into abuses in the girls' choir were presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier this year, the DR launched an external legal investigation after former choir members contacted the body about reports of harassment in the prestigious choir, and the investigation subsequently revealed serious violations, according to Henrik Bo Nielsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No cases of abuse have been uncovered since 2010, and none of the six adults are employed by DR anymore, according to Henrik Bo Nielsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A DR employee was sent home as a result of the investigation, said DE Director General Maria Rorby-Ron. She added: \u201cThe person in question has not worked with the girls\u201d choir recently, and the person is not among the six adults who subjected the girls to abuse.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today there are about 50 members in the choir, aged between 15 and 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The majority of the abuses occurred more than 20 years ago, and therefore during the tenure of Tage Mortensen, who was the division's chief commander for over 35 years, according to the report. Tage Mortensen died in 2001.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
