Based on recommendations from the Epidemics Committee, presented by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen at a press conference on Friday afternoon, the Danish Parliament approved a set of new restrictions in a vote held Friday evening. These measures aim to limit the spread of the coronavirus while keeping as much of Danish society as possible open. The new restrictions are as follows:
- Close each of the following:
- Playrooms
- casinos
- Amusement parks and water parks
- Exhibitions, conference halls and lecture halls
- Cultural activities
- Theaters
- Cinemas
- Museums
- Artistic performances
- Cultural clubs (Kulturhuse)
- Folkehøjskoler High Schools
- Party and wedding halls
- Akvarier Zoo and Aquarium
- Sporting events with an audience.
- Procedures specific to restaurants:
- Alcohol service is prohibited after 10 PM and restaurants must close at 11 PM.
- A general ban on the sale of alcohol between 10 pm and 5 am.
- Space requirements for social distancing: 2 square meters per seated guest and 4 square meters per standing guest.
- Mask or face covering requirements for employees who have contact with the customer, regardless of whether Corapas are present.
- Requirements for displaying images and informational materials from the Directorate of Public Health and requirements for providing hand sanitizers.
- Other initiatives:
- Mask requirements are being expanded in educational institutions, driving schools, fast food outlets and places of worship.
- Indoor space requirements for social distancing in shops, places of worship and religious services.
- Requirements for pre-booking a seat and showing Corapas on trains, as well as corapas requirements on long-distance public transport buses.
- Encouraging remote work from home
- Limit social gatherings during the Christmas season.
