According to DR, the well-known Danish Arab influencer Al-Ahmarni - whose real name is Ahmed Al-Shaabi - was sentenced yesterday, Monday, to four months in prison in February for publicly supporting Hamas's attack on a music festival in Israel, according to the news report. The influencer appealed the sentence to the Eastern High Court, where the ruling was issued yesterday, Monday.
The Supreme Court yesterday increased the sentence to an unconditional six-month prison term, which was also requested by the prosecution when the case was heard in the Copenhagen District Court.
وسبب القضية هو مقطع فيديو مدته 40 ثانية على Snapchat والذي علق فيه أحمد الشعبي (27 عامًا) بعد هجوم السابع من أكتوبر/تشرين الأول قائلاً: “إن 250 شخصًا قتلوا، بجدية – لنكن واقعيين ولو لمرة واحدة. ما يجري هناك (في إسرائيل)، ليس عادلاً تمامًا، لأنه لا يزال هناك أشخاص هناك. الناس يعيشون هناك”،وفي الفيديو، يتوقف قليلاً قبل أن يبتسم ويقوم بحركة راقصة ويهز رأسه ويكمل الحديث بالقول: “… والتي لم يتم تقسيمها بعد. لكن 250 قطعة (ربما يعني عدد الاشخاص) ليست غبية تمامًا”، وذلك وفقاً لموقع DR.
Ahmed Al-Shaabi said he was not guilty, and his defender believes that freedom of expression allowed for the release of that video.
وتعتبر هذه القضية هي الأولى في سلسلة قضايا قيد التحقيق تتعلق “بالتغاضي عن الإرهاب في الهجوم على إسرائيل”، بحسب المصدر.
It is worth noting that Danish law criminalizes sympathy with Hamas, which is classified as a terrorist organization, and therefore punishes anyone who publicly declares their support for or sympathy with Hamas or the attack of October 7th of last year.
