A 28-year-old woman and mother of two died after being stabbed in her apartment in Viby on Thursday morning. Police arrested the children's 38-year-old father and charged him with murder, according to a press release from East Jutland Police on Thursday afternoon.
The two children, a 4-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, witnessed their mother being stabbed. The girl sustained some injuries to one of her hands.
Police received a report this morning at 10:30 that a 28-year-old woman had been assaulted and stabbed in an apartment in Byvangs Allé in Viby. Police arrested the father of the two children and ambulances were immediately dispatched to the scene, where it was quickly determined that the woman had suffered serious injuries. Police said she was taken to the hospital where she died shortly before noon.
The 4-year-old girl was also taken to the hospital for treatment and was found to have superficial injuries.
The accused is expected to appear before a constitutional inquiry on Friday morning.
The police stated in the press release that social services authorities are responsible for the care of the two minor children.
