A new agreement on inflation assistance was just announced, providing an additional pension check and support for families with children, small traders, and tenants threatened with eviction.
The SVM government and six other parties have reached an agreement on inflation assistance, which was presented at a press conference at the Ministry of Finance earlier today. According to the press conference, 2.4 billion Danish kroner will soon be distributed to various segments of Danish society. Finance Minister Nicolai Wammen expressed his satisfaction with the agreement and announced that inflation is on the downward trend.
Several parties withdrew from the negotiations on the agreement, namely the Unity List (Enhedslisten), the Conservatives (De Konservative), and the Liberal Alliance (Liberal Alliance).
The agreement included allocating budgets for inflation assistance to the groups that were agreed to be financially supported, but it has not yet been agreed exactly how the funds will be used, as the parties will negotiate that later.
Leader of the Danish People's Party: The money should not go to the ghetto but to Danish children.
The cancellation of the additional support for the child check - which had been previously agreed upon - sparked disagreements between the parties, which led some parties to announce their withdrawal from the negotiations because of it, as the United List party accused the government of violating the agreement that was concluded before the elections.
