The convicted man was dressed entirely in black when he received the sentence in a crowded courtroom. Many relatives were present to witness the verdict, as well as people from the gangster community, which led to police turning away many at the door who came to attend the trial.

Many years of mistreatment
Kevin Adrian Werner is accused of more than 1,300 cases of sexual assault against 15 boys and young men, the youngest of whom was 14 years old when the assaults began eight years ago. The defendant did not admit guilt during the trial and said that he was not guilty.
This ruling means that Kevin Adrian Werner cannot be released until the court decides that he no longer poses a danger to society.
He was also sentenced to a ban on residing in Brøndby and Rødovre and a ban on visiting children under the age of 18 without being accompanied by an adult.

The story began on February 5, 2021, with a shooting incident in Brøndby. Police immediately encountered Kevin Adrian Werner, who had a history of minor convictions for violence and drugs and was initially considered the alleged perpetrator. However, it soon became clear that he may have been the intended target of the shooting, a fact that police have yet to clarify.
Two boys appeared at the police station with their mother, and while in custody, they reported Kevin Adrian Werner for assault. He has been detained ever since. Following initial inquiries, members of the BHD and BHY gangs held a meeting to discuss the matter. Several victims spoke freely to the police, while others came forward after the police contacted them directly to investigate following a complaint filed against Werner in Glostrup. A photo of the convicted man published on TV2's website suggests he is of immigrant origin.
What is detention?
- In addition to life imprisonment, detention is the only punishment in Danish criminal law that has no time limit.
- A convicted person is not released until the day the court finds that he no longer poses a danger to society.
- Three criteria must be met before anyone can be sentenced to prison:
The convicted person must be guilty of committing a serious violent crime, more serious threats, arson, or attempted arson.
It must be assumed that the accused poses an imminent danger to the lives, bodies, health, or freedom of others.
This assumption must be based on the nature of the crime committed and information relating to the perpetrator, including in particular information about the previous crime.
