Copenhagen municipality reduces the maximum speed limit for vehicles in these areas

The City of Copenhagen has received police permission to lower the speed limit on several roads in the city, according to the municipality's website. This move follows last year's announcement of a municipal speed limit reduction plan, which is expected to be fully implemented by 2025. The plan includes regional roads in Copenhagen and other main roads connecting the capital to surrounding municipalities, where the speed limit is currently 60 or 70 km/h. Projects are currently underway to reduce the speed limit in these areas to the new 50 km/h.

The plan that will be implemented soon is to reduce the speed to 30 km/h in the inner bridge areas and to 40 km/h in the rest of the city, and it will be implemented before the summer arrives.

Valby and Vanløse will also be the first two areas to be able to create zones where the maximum speed is 40 km/h, and signs for the new speed limits will be put up, according to the municipality.

The municipality has previously made changes to the maximum speed limit, up to 40 km/h, on several main roads in the Nørrebro area.
