In just a few hours: the deadline for university applications is today at 12 noon.

In a few hours, the application period for university studies will close, as 12 noon today (July 5th) is the last opportunity to submit applications for university admission for those wishing to apply for a place in higher education.

What makes this year special is the possibility of applying to seven new educational programs that have been opened outside the country's four largest school cities.

For example, it is now possible to study as a biological analyst in Hjørring, a midwife in Slagelse, or a radiology technician in Næstved.

The opening of the new specializations is part of a redistribution agreement joined by a wide range of parties with the aim of creating better educational opportunities outside the country's major cities.

More educational programs are on the way.
There are currently seven new specializations in university education, and according to the Ministry of Education and Research, this is just the beginning. The Ministry of Education and Research told DR that it expects to provide 32 new educational offerings outside the four largest study cities by 2030.

As early as next year, the veterinary medicine specialization is expected to open in Foulum, on the outskirts of Viborg, which will be the first opportunity to study to become a veterinarian outside of Copenhagen.

This year, a total of 887 educational presentations were given.

The new specializations outside the four major cities are:

1. Bioanalytic (UCN)
Hjørring
2. Maskinmester (MARTEC)

3. Ergoterapeut (UCSYD)

4. Maskinmester (FMS)

5. Datamatiker (EASV)
