Update: The Danish woman's only son confirmed to Danish media that his mother was found murdered in her apartment and that she was 52 years old. He commented on the news from the English-language Egyptian newspaper, saying that what was mentioned about the woman's age was not true.
The Danish Foreign Office confirmed on Tuesday evening that a Danish citizen had been found murdered in Egypt, according to the newspaper BT, as reported by TV2.
The ministry says relatives have been notified but cannot provide the newspaper with further details in consideration of their duty to maintain confidentiality.
وكتبت صحيفة إيجيبت إندبندنت المحلية الناطقة بالإنجليزية على موقعها على الإنترنت أنها امرأة في الثلاثينيات من عمرها وأن القتل وقع في منزلها في مجمع سكني في مدينة الشيخ زايد في منطقة الجيزة في القاهرة، ولم يتم تأكيد هذه المعلومات من قبَل السلطات الدنماركية بعد.
وبحسب وسائل إعلام مصرية فقد قام أفراد الأمن في المنطقة السكنية التي تعيش فيها المرأة بإبلاغ الشرطة بعد العثور على الجثة، ويقوم علماء الطب الشرعي حالياً بفحص الجثة لتحديد كيفية الوفاة، كما تقوم الشرطة كذلك بمراجعة المراقبة بالفيديو من تلك المنطقة.
