The tenth session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, hosted by the Moroccan Parliament in the cities of Rabat and Dakhla, kicked off yesterday with the participation of 80 parliamentarians representing various parliaments of the world’s countries to discuss international developments related to tolerance and peace and ways to find solutions to the political, economic and security challenges facing the world at the present time.
وقال معالي أحمد بن محمد الجروان رئيس المجلس العالمي للتسامح والسلام في كلمته الافتتاحية، إن «العالم يواجه تحديات أمنية وأزمات اقتصادية تهدد الأمن الغذائي العالمي وتفاقم من أزمات التغير المناخي ومن واجبنا كمحبين للسلام وممثلي الشعوب العمل على مواجهة تلك المخاطر والتهديدات بشتى السبل والإمكانيات ولأننا في المجلس العالمي للتسامح والسلام نؤمن بضرورة حل كافة النزاعات من خلال الطرق السلمية وعبر طاولة المفاوضات وإعطاء أقصى فرصة للحلول السلمية، ندعو من خلال جلستنا هذه إلى وقف كافة أشكال العنف واستخدام القوة في جميع أنحاء العالم كما أننا نؤمن بأن تأمين الغذاء شرط أساسي لتحقيق السلام والتسامح العالميين ويعد أساساً لبناء الاستقرار والسلام».
He added: «We call for building new partnerships between countries, governments, and international, regional, national and parliamentary organizations in order to confront global food crises and provide energy. We also call for concerted efforts to confront extremism, eradicate intolerance, discrimination and hatred, combat terrorism in all its forms and types, spread sound concepts of religions and instill the principles of tolerance and peace in our societies.».
